Good  Morning
~~~
The  coffee  pot
grows  piping  hot
alarm
so  cruelly  dread
Aroma
flips  a  toggle  switch
where  slumber
crowds  my  head
~
Life-light
flickers
but  nothing  stirs
which  comes  as  no  surprise
Then
upon  my  cheek
your  magic  kiss
enchants  the  sparkle
to  lifeless  eyes
~
" Good Morning "
~~~

I don't drink coffee and the only one here to give me a wake up smooch is my pooch! But I loved your poem.

Ahhh Rex ... I will exchange the coffee for a tea, but will gladly take the kiss!    Wonderful morning pick-me-upper you've penned (even though 'tis evening as I read) Hmmm...Perhaps I shall change my order to hot chocolate and a hug then? Great work!

Best wishes,
/Kit

a cup of coffee AND a kiss?  I definitely need the coffee before i can stand to be touched...NOT a morning person.    But I loved this one Rex

I love it Rex! Coffee brewing, just can't go on without it.

But there's no morning kiss...LOL more like the light switch flipped on and it's 5 o'clock, get up. LOL

Great poem! I really enjoyed this one, and I'll have to come back with my coffee in the morning and enjoy it again

Thanks everyone ... I had an individual reply written last night ... to most of you ... but I fell asleep in the chair and my hand was still on the mouse ... woke up 2 hrs later and everything was gone ... I fall asleep so easily lately ... must have high blood sugar or something ... diabetes?
Not sure I want to find out

Rex, short, sweet and to the point.  Loved it.  What better way to start your day with coffee and a kiss.  I'm new here and was wondering how everyone puts these smiles, DRAGONS (loved it), etc??

More than a few days late in reading this Rex, and it's afternoon now, well here it is. As is usual for you a really great poem, and a beautiful good day to you. Lovely way to rise and shine, or should that be smile and shine!!  : /font>
