They hired my mind seduced by words kind collected my flesh by default now I spend all my days in this growing rat maze away from the sun, in work's vault they gave me some tasks I did more than they asked but they expected, my soul from me and my hate of this place leads to my disgrace and oh, how I yearn to be free! I travel in fright both morning and night like sheep or cattle called in to meet needs of the body my work is now shoddy and I long for a place, I can win but soon I'll be leaving and I won't be grieving the loss of this life called to be and then I'll have fun earn a place in the sun, be quit of this corporate slav'ry. "It is the image in the mind that links us to lost treasures; but it is the loss that shapes the image, gathers the flowers weaves the garland."- |

I know all too well where this came from and even sat in one of those corporate chairs for awhile. I spent 18 years in the corporate world and broke away more than a year ago....and whew......hope to never have to go back. Life is too short for all that. Great read. |

i think just about 91%(made up statistic)of the working class can agree with u on this one...im in school right now so i can not put my two cents in about this but i loved the way this poem flowed and the meaning behind it.  "my love is my motivation my love is my inspiration perception of this poem is your interpretation" -- rlt |

I'm a rat in a maze thoughtout my days and cattle going home. I hate that place. I want to escape I ***** and moan and groan.. _________________________ OKay, I'm not paid to write poetry.
