Well, de Vine, I took your suggestion and tried my hand at it...not too happy with how it came out, but here it is. The sadistic sun beat mercilessly the sand. Thermals rising in protest, Stirring the scorching soil. Convection breezes stir grains Sending spirals and spins, Picking up speed and sand, Feeding voraciously off the rising heat: A horizontal avalanche of dirty sand Rising like Babel to usurp the sun, Churning, writhing, a wall of pain Scything scree, stripping shrubs, God's bead-blaster taking Flecks of paint from cowering cars, A blinding wall of power Filling our world From East to West. A saguaro snaps On the TV screen Before the power fails; And as windows sing and shudder I understand what they said, 'Sometimes, Nature is a Mutha.' Alicat |

It's good!! But you haven't conveyed the sting of the sand in your eyes when the wind blows a dust storm into town! LOL I liked it..and we escaped another storm tonight! |
