    Dragons of my mind

Conjured dragons roam my deep
Crypt beyond my lids.
Yet live ones overrun my sleep
Racing round my Id.

Belching fire, flame and smoke
Scorching me on track.
Circling round an acid cloak
Turning all things black.

Roasting the harvest of my mind
Basting with insane.
Shades of shadows make me blind
Shaping all to vain.

And though I've fought and conquered some
Still they come and come.
Slithering out the dung and scum
Weighing me with sum.

The count is nine and counting more.
Blood drips my bloodied shield.
My back is backed against the door
Yet I will never yield.

Sy - I've said this so many times, its beginning to sound like a proverb - but you write with terrific slants and metaphors - each of your poems is a real gem.  And to think I once smooched ya!

Of course, another gem of a poem, written as only you can.
I hope you will fight off those dragons and join in a world of merriment
Love ya

LngJhnAg,
Yes and I have a picture to prove it. I thank you and my dragons thank you.

Elizabeth,
The world of merriment comes with a price. But for you I would pay it. Love Sy

Sy
as long as you keep your dragonheart, you'll be fine as is your poetry.

Be well

Seymour, have you ever considered laying off those mushrooms, dear?

(Oh, if 'twere but that simple, eh?)

A masterful manifestation of poetic panache' Sy. I liked this VERY much.

Janet,
Losing my personal gator is a real downer.
I'll surely miss you and wish you luck with
your Dragon. If you ever want to write me it
would be my pleasure.
May you catch your muse on the morning breeze
Just make sure it is not the bise. (cold northern wind) Love Sy

Seymour...
You're not just a poet, you are an artist, painting with words and igniting the imagination with fire.......
              You are the poet dragon!!
