Online affairs, how do they start,
how does someone steal your heart.
someone tell me, maybe I will take
part.

I found out today, my husband of 34
years knows the way.
You would think, after all this time
I would know, but you are wrong, this
is a place I didn't think he would go.

But he has, he left the proof on the
screen.
He fell asleep sitting here, after he
was through, Instant messaging her.
he didn't realize, I would get up
early enough for it to be seen,
but there it was, sitting on the
screen.

He planned a vacation for next
week, I thought it was for working
on the house we have been building for
the last 20 years, but now I see it
wasn't for me ,it was to meet her,
not build a home for me.

You might ask, how do I feel,
I don't really know, but he sure
is free to go.

Far be it from me to hold him back,
especially after they have made plans
to hit the sack.

So Pat can have him and they both will
see, Diane is very capable of taking
care of me.

I don't want your charity, and don't
tell me no lies, just get me a car
and a computer, then we will say
GOOD-Bye.

There is more to be said, but I won't
say it here, because if I don't quit
writing, I am going to Break Down in
Tears.

Thanks MMoonchild for commenting, it sure helps me right now.

Sorry I didn't read yours, I just found this
site, but I will look it up.what is the title.
He doesn't know that I know about it yet, he is still sleeping, maybe I shouldn't have posted a poem about it yet,but for me that was a way of releasing what I was feeling.
Thank you so much MMoonchild.

Diane - I feel so bad for you - I've been there, and it is a horrible existence - Good luck in whatever you decide.

oh my!! I am dumbstruck by the emotions you have conveyed in this poem Diane...what a horrible way to find out...your words tell all and I for one am glad you found your way to Passions...its very healing.
So share in the brother/sisterhood of your fellow poets and begin to heal through words...it may take an infinite amount of time, but the poets here will be glad to help you through.

Don't care what people say
Just follow your own way
Don't give up and use the chance
To return to innocence.

There are no words that will take the pain away
only a thousand poets within these walls that will hug you everyday.
Find release in the pen you hold
we will listen as your story is told.

Sorry to see sorrow in your life but welcome to Passions and please feel free to rest among friends.  Beautiful verse you share though it is filled with broken dreams of tears.

34 years of marriage - sounds like classic mid-life crisis - It may well be - he'll come back on hands and knees - and you'll have to decide if you want to forgive him. then too - the woman may be the siren he's seeking to renew his sense that he's not "old" yet - I will pray for you

Reminds me of the time I arrived home unexpectedly in the early afternoon and walked up stairs and was walking down the long hall to the master bedroom and before I walked into the bedroom I overheard a conversation my wife was having on the phone...and somethings made me stop and listen...and she didn't know I was there yet...and she was talking about how much she loved someone and couldn't live without them..and I suddenly realized she was not talking about me...of course later she claimed it was me she was talking about...she had been talking about her boyfriend from Argentina that she had fallen in love with...met him at her job at the airport when he came to America to take flying lessons...only the beginning of my problems...hope you work this situation out and confrontation is in order...be strong...I wasn't and she dispised me...do whats right for you...James

Oh Dianne ... my heart goes out to you. Very sorrowful words and emotions you've expressed in this heartwrenching verse.  I've often thought of my pen as my therapy ... perhaps you will also find comfort in these poetic walls of Passions. Take care during this difficult time ...

Best wishes,
/Kit

I have been the one having the affair, it sucks, it has torn my heart and my life apart. I wish you well! It is a horrible situation to be in, either way. And the way you found out was really awful, my hubby found out the same way pretty much. It was a shameless thing for me to be doing, I will never be proud of that, and how I hurt him and my family.

But you'll make it thru! You will! I will be praying for you.
*much hugs*

Diane, I just want to add my thoughts, and hope you are doing ok. This is a hard thing to deal with, I am sure, and I hope you can keep feeling strong and angry, it will help you get through it.
Peace.

Diane...not many words right now could possibly be a consolation...but please accept a computerised *hug* from me...

I am really sorry for what you are going through and thanks for coming here to share some of your hurt.

That's an honour.

There are not many words to say, especially when you find the one you've got your life to. Stay strong and I wish you the best.

No matter what I say, it'll sound trite and just like everyone else. I can only say that you will be fine, even if it's eventually. Trust in yourself, make the decisions that are right for you, and remember to be good to yourself. Take care, warm hugs and soft smiles.

Diane, not standing up for your husband...but saying I've been there as well...and I was the one who was wrong...I sometimes wish he'd fought harder for me...instead I was free to walk, which I did...the sadness still haunts the corners of my life...I wish you peace and happiness...

Your poem is a beautiful thing even tho it is very sad.  I have been there too, 37 years, so my heart goes out to you.  E-mail me off line if you wish.  I will be there for you.
