Sacred Second Vows with Interlude

Your face has become the face
that resides within my soul
makes me entirely whole
brings warmth through the cold

I hang my head in wanton shame.

I took a solemn, sacred vow
to love, honor and cherish
till that day that he is gone
and our love would rightly perish

You are not the one to blame.

But to you, may I give
the hope that long may you live
to be here, right here with me
when I’m alone and set free

For I am not worthy of your devotion

Your heart has spoken
and with your core
there’s no voice needed
to hear passion’s roar

and tides will ever sweep this ocean

so to you, my second sacred vow
that when time passes, it may allow
our hearts to thus be so entwined
and with renewed love, call you mine.

and perhaps someday we’ll share this emotion…

if only on another plane…

Ohhhhh, Karilea - this is a WONDERFUL  poem!!!!  This really sings!  I love the intertwined scheme, too.  This is terrific.

I want to sent this to someone and tell then - you speak my thoughts - it is so 'dead on' I find it scary. I guess I should thank you ~wry smile~ and I probably won't send it - but it sure is well written
