I could not bear to post
nor feel my heart render a reply
the pain quickens me
surrender is my folly at moment,
I have  felt your heart
known your souls temptation,
laughed at your whim
let my tears stain my cheek.
For time undending I have read
words that I could not have believed
imagined them near by breast
as some form of small memory.
I wonder, if at all, it was enough,
for yours was a pain greater,
but yours was a concern for others
with which we at times were blinded.
And so your heart gave way
to what we all eventually must face,
that world which does encrouch
and threatens our peace.
Your loss to this house of words
for a time, yes I understand,
shall never once be replaced
nor should any try.
For you have been my light
my beackon of hopes everlasting,
my sanctuary when I belived I had lost,
and inspiration for continuing on.
Your gestures of love
to which you gave without constraint
has been a guiding force umongst us,
and we are better for it all.
I shall miss those sweet words
that fall like flakes of new snow
upon my face in the glow
of a winters day sunset
when my heart could burst
my soul let loose,
and nothing from my pen could replace
your presence on this earth.

To you my poet in heart....
I understand as we all do...
I shall await your return with
hope, prayers and patience...
For your words are a strength
which binds this community of poets
as a family......
For that I bid you good grace,
love, and strength for the days ahead.....

Take care Janet,
My love
Michael.

From the very first word I read ...
I saw your gift, your light, your grace.
Your words played my heartstrings,
and allowed healing tears to dance on my face.
So moved by you, I was ...
the way you hold your heart in your hand.
The way you love unselfishly ...
I knew you were special...I knew you understand.
Some are born Poets ...
some born Butterflies,
Some just see the morning ...
some are part of the golden sunrise.
I have seen the light you give off,
its there ...with your heart on your sleeve.
I have seen my reflection in your poetic eyes ...
and in you ... I believe.
***********

Thank you Michael...my words wont do you justice ...
so I will just say thank you for this poem...
you KNOW I will treasure it always ...
and I love you for it.
stronger each day...through our poetry ..
and each other.
We will make it ... I know ...
thank you my gentle poet in heart ...
for this ... and all the "traces left behind"
Janet Marie

There are places inside our souls -
that have never been touched.
There are places inside our hearts -
that need to be loved this much.

and your grace
remain my heart's beat...

Michael- I want to thank you for posting such a wonderful tribute to my good friend.  I know she loves you for it and she will forever cherish you and this forever.  I have talked to her today and I wish you could have heard how much you have really touched her.  Thank you once again.  You are a true friend to her and a poet in heart.
