For so long now I've been drowning ... lost and adrift ... washed out to sea. To tired to swim the tide ... the only thing keeping me afloat was poetry. So I immersed myself in the words, in the verses ... the rhythm ... the rhyme. And I blocked out the rest of the world, trying to leave the pain behind. Baptized by inspiration ... poetry held me in those endless lonely nights. I wanted to stay here forever... I wanted to dry my wings in the warmth of your light. You words have helped heal my heart ... your understanding set me free. By the grace of your gifts I've discovered the poet that lives in me. There are no words to do this place justice ... I wish I had the perfect rhymes to explain. In your light I have blossomed and grown ... by your touch I will never be the same. But as much as I wish I could ... I cant hide away forever in poetry land I've let myself fall into the fantasy ... I've laid here too long on your poetic beaches of sand. And as reality always does ... the things I've neglected have caught up with me. So for a little while ... I need to take a break from my true love....sweet poetry. I take you all with me where ever I go ... each one of you ... so precious to me. You are the quiet comfort in my day ... this place is a gift of fate and destiny. I hope to come back to you stronger and maybe with the gift of self control. Moderation is the key ... other wise we dig ourselves in a deeper hole. So for now I will say good-bye ... I hope you will understand. You know I cant stay away too long ... you all hold my heart in your hands. So until later my sweet gators, dont forget me while Im gone. OK...so now tell you something you didn't know-right? Over 4000 replies in 6 months kinda says it all...I know. As many of you know..when I came here, back in late January ... I was mourning the passing and loss of my soulmate, my beautiful butterfly DeVante' From day one you all embraced and accepted me ... both my poetry and my need to worship yours. You have helped me heal and grow so much in the past months... and I wish to thank you all for this. It is no secret I have been consumed by the grace of poetry land... So now the things that I have neglected in "Real Time"...have caught up with me and I need to take a break and get my life back in order and get my perspective back as well as getting my muse healthy again... she is battered and bruised by my bad habits  Im sure you have noticed I am not keeping up on my replies in here, between my computer probs and the things here that need to be done.... I have not been able to post as I have before. I don't feel right posting poetry while not replying to your work. So for now...I must work on getting my self and my life straightened out and hopefully come back to you with a healthy muse and new poetry. I will still have E-mail and will keep in touch ... but may take longer to reply than before...please be patient with me... I thank you all from the deepest part of my poets heart..for your friendship, for your encouragement and all the kindness you have shown me. I have learned so much from you all... I will of course be stopping in to read your amazing poetry ... but for now will try to get my reply addiction under control.  Thank you for all that you are... and all you have given to me. Tears in my eyes as I cry for you. They are happy tears mixed the sad ones too. The happy ones are for you getting your life back on track and the sad ones welllll....that need not be said as we will all miss you here...thank god for e-mails and phone cards. I know of the struggles you have in real life and you KNOW you can lean on me as much as possible. LOVE YOU TO PIECES I DO AND YOU KNOW THE STRENGTH OF IT...HUGS BABY....talk to you in a few. AND ANOTHER THING...wasn't sure if I shared this story with you or not...during one of my Fits of PASSIONS---A friend of mine came over and looked at me and shook her head and said, "You have GOT to stop this..." and I looked at her, and tapped my monitor screen and said..."But there's PEOPLE IN THERE..." and because she knows me and loves me anyway, she only sighed and said, "That may well be so. But it's going to be damned hard to type in a straightjacket..." ROFL...So, I do understand---see, these people miss us, so go love on your family, we'll be here...and you ride a breeze through now and again...love ya muchly... |

Janet Marie - I haven't been a member of Passions very long, but this is a beautiful poem and it reminded me of a poem I wrote several years ago called "A Breath of Fresh Air". It really not my style, but I was going through a difficult time when I wrote it. Sounds like you could probably relate to it also. I be looking for the day when you return to passions and plan to look up your past work. Hope things work out great for you. |

Dearest Janet, I am not sure you realize what an impact you have had on me personally, but is greater then I know how to expalin. This post has brought tears to my eyes. I feel and understand why you are doing this, I really do. Getting on with the "real world" How do you know what that is. We "feel" so much one sometimes does not know which feeling to trust, to follow. You amaze me and the power you have over so many people. I read their response to you and I see. Never in my life I have I ever wanted to pick up the phone and call someone....which is how you are to me. This I know, must of been so hard on you. Janet Marie, Dear sweet, JM . . . this is a powerful piece of poetry you have written here my friend. I think all of us at one time or another have used Passions as a crutch to avoid "real life". I know I have too. I try hard not to do that, but it is not easy to be so strong. I am sitting here sympathizing and admiring your awesome courage for having the insight to realize what was happening and the conviction to do something about it. You are the bravest butterfly in the entire world . . . and yes, you are meant to be free. Go forth and soar with the eagles. My thoughts and prayers are with you on your journey my friend. Seriously, I know I am not here a lot, but when I do visit, I always catch up on your poems, jm...I may not respond, but I am here, hauting in my usual way...you made me feel welcome here from the very beginning and every time I returned, I felt like I was coming back to a long-lost friend. I was in that position early this year...late last year. I dived into Passions... I think something like 1000 replies in 2-3 weeks once. I lived here...it was very hard to leave. This was really the home of my heart and mind - still is, but not to the extent it was, because there comes a point where you have to let go. Get out into the world. Evertime I come in and find this back up..Im just so touched and stunned..... your words of understanding and support mean so much and as Irish Rose above said... YES...I am very honored and humbled. I had to smile at Kailes comment..... where she says she guesses Im not leaving after all..... Im sure it seems that way... I have not been able to "leave" all the way.... but I have not posted any poetry...as i said.. I dont feel right posting my poetry when I cant reply to all of yours as I have done in the past. BUT....I have cut way back.... and I am not on the computer like I used to be The truth is I get so depressed when I stay away too long... I need the poetry and friendships I have found here ... but I am doing better.... learning moderation and trying to write again. Me and me muse are still making up.*smile* I hope I can do this without leaving all the way... time will tell.....
