I set to write poetic words Upon this page today To pen some thoughts to raise the soul Demons from my mind to flay Yet quill would not my bidding keep Nor would it find repose Off in untold directions went To write another's prose Another's no, but sure my own Yet not my conscious wish As if I set to make soufflé And cooked another dish I sought to write heroic words At least of high romance Or maybe words in thoughtful nein Or lively words that dance So I stop scribing to ponder Cause for dilemma's horns One sharp thought filled brain with wonder Thought vice life creates the thorns Thought and life they're poles asunder We dream things no fate allows Thus do things, so good souls blunder Striving schemes fate under ploughs Yet I would strive night and day to Win your heart with all my might Fate be dammed I'd give my life to Be your lover day and night [This message has been edited by Wilfred Yeats (edited 08-25-2000).] |

Your mind truly is wandering...but I like the path it led me down |

Sometimes the abstract meanderings are the most beautiful pieces of all, as this one! It has a free flow that I enjoy very much!! Today is a gift.... That is why they call it 'the Present'! |

Will, this is priceless, I know just the feeling. The very end: "Yet I would strive night and day to Win your heart with all my might Fate be dammed I'd give my life to Be your lover day and night" Seems to be about a particular love, as compared to writing in general. And what an excellent way to state it! Fate be damned! I love it! catalinamoon |

oops - typo = 'nein' should be 'mien' Paula - I wrote a couple verses - in that format and it felt good- then had to decide where to 'go' with it.~G~ - fate decreed an ending I could live with - else I'd still be writing Thank you Sunny1 - Life and thought (dreams) ARE poles apart - at least most of the time. - still it was a 'fun' write to see how I could draw it together CatalinaMoon - "Yes fate be dammed - go to go for it. Thanks Sunshine - I think it is a given that work and sleep would have to be allowed some time -~G~ thank you |

"As if I set to make soufflé And cooked another dish" What a clever quill yours must be, to allow a gifting of this kind. Thank you I enjoyed this very much, Wilfred. ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

Claire- Written with a ballpen - while away from PC at the shore- (no real quill ) perhaps I should stay away from PC more . Humble thanks. Mike - the muse seldom guides me this well - glad you liked |

I followed your thoughts like they were my own Wilfred! How many times I've sat to write purposefully on one topic, yet wound up down a different direction. It's exciting to let the muse run freely! Wonderful writing! Best wishes, /Kit |

Jenn - I know no tricks - just determination and patience - I don't always succeed - but - then some dreams are not all they seem either - so I guess it's a wash thanks for the reply - as for some dreams - check me out in adult - I post there too |
