They Closed Loves Door

He says he’d be better off without her by his side
So he moves his things out, another place he’ll reside
They’ve had their problems throughout the years
They’ve had some good times, but they’ve shed many tears.

They’re two different people, personalities not the same
Just two different people, neither one of them to blame
He didn’t want to be the one to say the final goodbye
He would rather she do it cause he couldn’t stand to see her cry.

She made her decision to do what she felt was right
As much as she hated it with all her might
But, if someone didn’t do it and do it really soon
They’d end up hating each other and both be doomed.

She wanted to end it while she could still remember the good
As things were getting worse as she knew they would
Her heart has been broken, but she’s not crying anymore
As today she let him go, today she closed loves door.

She wishes him the best throughout the rest of his life
She wishes him happiness, no sorrow or strife
It’s sad to see love die, but they can’t take it anymore
Today, a sad day as they closed loves door.

Welcome to Passions!! I've been looking
forward to your first post...your comments
on my poems have been so kind that I
couldn't wait to read yours.  I'm not
disappointed...I would say blown away would
be the perfect phrase.  The heart felt
emotion in this piece radiates off the
page...It's never an easy place to be and
you penned the situation so acutely.  Great
entrance in to Passions and I look forward
to many more~

Susan, you've been so kind to read so many of my works, I ran around looking for your first post and here it is! O my friend, I am so sorry that this upheaval is what brought you here...but do, sit back, breathe, allow good thoughts to permeate your senses...and enjoy your much needed island of Passions...

Ahhhhh- I knew I would find your first post sooner or later.  Welcome to Passions and what a great one to start with.  Your writing is superb and it is never easy when love of two grows in two different directions.  IT is hard to keep the flame alive if the seperation of communication keeps a love a part.  Really beautiful work here.

Mark - yes, this was my first post and it was hard to write this one as it was an ending to a marriage that I didn't want to let go of.  After several months of crying, I realized why do I want someone who does not want me.  We all deserve to be loved as we love.  10 months have passed since my husband left and I'm now on my true way to recovery.  Thank you again.  Smiles!

Nice to read in your comments that sad times are getting better..I wanted to tell you many years ago it took me two years to come to the realization "why would I want to be with someone that didn't want to be with me."
Lots of holding on and false hope and hurting before I came to that truth...and it gave me the strength to let go and go on...we all must find our personal strength to help us let go of the pain...so glad you have found yours...James

WOW!!!!  First, to your first post being such a wonderful entrance...sad, indeed...
I think there seems to be something in the internet waves these days...when I read these poems, I get so caught up in the writer's emotions.  truly well-written, susan.

Susan, Sooooo Beautifully Sad, What you
did takes alot of courage, but it seems you
knew what was best for both of you,but getting to that point is very difficult.
Best of luck,
Diane

Susan, obviously a difficult poem to write but a smooth read, emotions well expressed and the poems has class.

Welcome to passions I look forward to reading more of your work.

Be well
