Dawn

The stars are still shining bright
as the moon slowly slips away,
preparing for it's slumber
as the sun comes out to play.
One by one the stars go out
like candles snuffed by an unseen hand,
but instead of darkness, the sun comes up,
spreading colour across the land.
The changes of each dawn
hold me spellbound with their charms
as the sun lights up my world
and cradles it in it's arms.

Hello, Dee, and a very warm welcome to you. This poem is so nice, especially the image of the moon, slipping slowly away to slumber. Just wonderful.

Dee~
Welcome to Passions.
Your poem depicts a lovely view at
evening closing and dawn beginning.

I particularly enjoyed your reference
to the stars being snuffed out one by one.
Cleverly done.
