Summer of '64 from behind the counter I glanced towards the pool so tan, muscular narrow in the hips strong but tender smother -you - lips eyes to pierce your soul from that moment on I knew he would be the guardian of my heart M*99 Summer of '68 Ocean City, MD just 19 comes a knock at the door open s.l.o.w.l.y ~~~YOU~~~ standing there just back from VietNam complete surprise no warning just a smile on your face and a tear in your eye... M*99 Summer of 2000 A few days ago a shock ocurred My body wrenched Only silence heard As the mind consumed All the hurt of word And determined was I, to calm what stirred. Over thirty years ago, I met him when A lifeguard, older Became my friend And served in Nam Always I penned To a future, he would become, back then. My friends were his and his were mine Life was wonderful, Treated us kind Sure it was tough, As young marrieds would find But tender were the moments in time. That was then and now is here Deciding a life To no longer share But once discussed There's not the fear I'm surprising myself, not shedding a tear. Together at last in thoughts to end A fairy tale love Two hearts now to spend Forever apart With tender to send Moments of yesterdays 'round memory's bend. In corner, he'll be, always around A love of that length Can't always be found Lucky I was To have memories wound Forever in heart, years shared, solid and sound. So to you, my once "ever", I toast you tonight Hoping we fare In the brightest of light You in your new life Mine of moon's height As we each soar anew, happiness in-flight... M 8*21*2k |

Oh, this is so beautiful! I am assuming all is good my dear? I certainly hope so!! Wonderful write. Strive for higher levels, if they seem out of reach... Grow, and they will get closer. |

All "just is"...we are both ok..and more then civil...and will show the world of ours that we can maintain a friendship as we dissolve our marriage... because we are two very caring persons who once had something very special... thank you TK for reading and responding ~~soft hugs Maureen |

Maureen I can't spend the time here at Passions that I'd like but I am glad I found these writings of yours. There is so much interesting history here......it's truly sad how life can take such a terrible turn but I feel from these words that you are going to find a way to cope....enjoyed the read very much!! |

I'm glad I happened on this, although it left me feeling a bit sad. I went thru something similar... finding (what I thought was) true love at a young age, having visions of it lasting forever, and then, after 20 yrs of a seeming one-sided relationship, giving up and divorcing. It was a tragic experience for me. You seem to be faring much better and I'm glad. Some beautiful words you've found in the process. Thanx for sharing them. I wish you the best! Sand |

Sand, thank you, I guess I am deceiving myself once again into thinking I am dealing with a mature adult ...nothing comes easy in life and I guess nothing leaves the same way. ~~soft smile Maureen |
