My heart continues to beat Although I am not sure how Even in bitter defeat Amidst broken wedding vows I have withstood the pain Of watching it fall apart Our love has been slain The casualty is my heart I tried with all my might And did what I could Today I give up the fight It's time that I should What could possibly be left Here between two old friends? Both of them are bereft Is it a possibility to make amends?
