I Thought Of You Today...

I thought of you today
as the tears and strain
that have racked my body
eased a bit.

Soaking in the warmth,
and shine of the sun,
after days of torment
I sat on concrete steps,
uncomfortable, but solid.
I saw your eyes smile at me.

I felt them watching
every little movement I made,
the twitching I have
at the corners of my mouth, now
wanting lips to touch
and heal them
back to softness.

I thought of you today
My eyes closed
but seeing clearly
sparked a memory of touch,
of passionate words
that will always remain with me
especially
in times of need.

Your pale skin,
your gentle looks
your almost smiles.
I can do nothing
but think of you
this way
today.

I let the breeze play in my hair
leaned back against the rail
(for some needed support)
felt your fingers
tangling there.
A come-on whisper
touched my ear
I thought of you
in this way
here.

I thought of you with opened eyes
in bluest blue
of cloudless skies
then one began to float in view
and dreamt I, then
of only you.

I thought of you today
no tears in eyes
I'll smile again
contented moment
of times
back then.

especially when
I thought of you today...

Even at the saddest times, its funny how those memories of ones we've loved come back to haunt us.
Lovely poem

"Life is like music; it must be composed by ear, feeling, and instinct, not by
rule."~ Samuel Butler ~

Amazing how the warm and fuzzy thoughts start coming through once the turmoil has settled.

MMoonchild, I sat back with many thoughts as I read this poem you have written. It was so nice to stop by and see this work, and then think of memories.

Memories hold dear to the times of love's innocense.  They often are the reason we seek that level again disregarding the pain that so many times before has rocked us back

lovely write....your pen serves you well.

Maureen you have the softest flowing sensual style.......sort of like a purring kitten.. I know the content reflects some actual lonliness but you have such a wonderful style to deal with it.

You write so beautifully, and these lines are wondrous to me.

I loved this one
