Of snore and war It is no tap more like a shove Propels that strike in nightly quell. A tap she says, a tap of love But wakes me like a wrap from hell. She blames it on my nightly snore A sound for sure I do not hear. Never the less declares her war On one she says she holds so dear. Impossible my night of rest Her nightly wrung that rings my bell. A night of torment at its best Of semi sleep and sore rebel. Alas its time I set the peace Let time and age to saved the wed. So I have sort a sure surcease By sleeping in another bed. I tried to will a sound rapport Yet still she wakes me evermore. |

I don't think you're the Lone Ranger here Seymour.....the same thing has happened to me and I had to travel to another bed...alas poor innocent man you have been usurped from the bed of the king...but to keep peace is so divine. |

Alas its time I set the peace Let time and age to saved the wed. So I have sort a sure surcease By sleeping in another bed. I tried to will a sound rapport Yet still she wakes me evermore .. .. as I see it, she was disturbed since you snored... and now she is disturbed as you sleep separated... a difficult condition to go through... why don't you ask her to try ear plugs instead.... ![]() just kidding, seymour... a nice poem with light humour, but if I look for depth, I find it going from deep to much deeper... incredible... regards, sudhir |

The rupturing sound of husbands snore Will haunt the wives forever more For this ungracious thunderous roar Turns off the passionate spiget's pour So find a way to stop the snore And sleep with me, or out the door! Only kidding, and not to detract from your marvelously worded poem You are a master of expression. I don't know how you pull the words from your mind Liz |

Snore of the Roses...wasn't there a movie made about this subject? Oh now I remember it was "War of the Roses". Better watch out the ending was snorifying...or was it mortifying? James |

Seymour~ Well, I'm gonna do the drippy-eyed thing and relate my grandmother's lament ... When Grandpa was gone we found her sitting up at night ... When asked why, her response was 'I didn't ever think I'd miss his night song.' Enjoyed your write. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

I enjoyed your snore story, Seymour. And I'm with Liz...amazed at your unending supply of keen words and images. Nicely snored, I mean shared. ![]() ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

Seymour wonderful poem, thankful I don't snore. If I do I have never heard them...lol and besides mine are probably sweet sounding. really enjoyed the poem. Sy-I no longer have this problem but I can relate all too well. My snores if any....I will deny them still...lol....are heard by only me. Your talent to toss your emotions down is simply amazing for sure. I bow to your talent. |

Oh my, this is hilarious. I agree with the previous comment of the woman being irritated with either the snore or the seperation. If ear plugs are not an option, how about those nostral plugs... they widen your nostral opening to allow more air to pass through. I believe there is also a tape that goes across the bridge of your nose... well... good luck anyhow!! *S* -jaimie www.ladysixstring.com |

I have fought similar battles, with the numerous bruises and scars to prove it. But have forgotten them so easily until your poem. Thanks for bringing the memories back. |
