Walking beside the river in the early morning Watching newborn sunlight dance off ripples Like fireworks in the night The water is like many diamonds sparkling Trees sway in the wind, fighting to stay upright. The ripples crash gently against the riverbank Like miniature waves from the sea The water is so clear and hypnotizing As it creeps by so majestically. The wind and trees create a harmonic melody Birds sing and swing to the tone Bushes & butterflies dance vigorously in the breeze While dragonflies and bees buzz on. Creeping thru the thick underbrush Treking along the river path Kicking off the glistening dew drops That hang like pearls from the grass. Garfield |

What a beautiful poem... beautiful picture it created in my mind. Keep writing. I enjoyed this one. "The universe is full of magical things patiently waiting for our wits to grow sharper." Eden Phillpotts *Cassandra Roseen* |

Thank you all for your kind comments. Hopefully I 'll be able to continue to write and present you with more appealing works. When they say "your your own worst critic," I know what they mean. Again thank your all for your encouraging comments.< !signature--> Garfield [This message has been edited by ggrn3 (edited 08-19-2000).] |

Mrs. Elizabeth & Mrs. Paula I posted this some time ago. I thought it had ran it's course as far as responses. I'm so glad that you both liked this piece. This poem came about from remembering the fishing trips with my father in the early morning. Things were always so pleasant and peaceful and the scenery beautiful. I just tried to paint a picture with words of what I observed on those mornings. Thanks for kind words and taking the time to read this one. Garfield |

Kit It was worth writing if this piece invigorated and refreshed you in anyway. I so glad you enjoyed it and thanks so much for reading and your kind words. Melton I do daydream quite a bit, but I also enjoy nature at its best. I also like to fish although I don't go as often as I would like. Suggestion: go fishing very early one morning to the nearest river. Do not fish from the boat, but from the bank. I'll bet if you sit back and take it all in, you see this poem in its entirity. Thanks for reading and your kind words. I hope you like this as much as I liked your writes. I'm still laughing at "It's a Miracle" & "Deer vs. LngJhnAg." Wilfred Yeats I'm always honored when you stop by to read. If I've impressed you with this one, I feel that I've accomplished something. Thanks for stopping by to read and your very kind words.
