I Think I Am More Than Misunderstood I wander endlessly through lifeless crowds and breathe their death in clouds. I taste their pain and season the rain with putrid moistened hate. I think I am more than misunderstood, when I am back and you're all there and sounds invade my space. When light it fades and I am lost and real is not the case. I swim in seas of society's disease and struggle with laughter when I never really heard, when I never really saw or felt what it was. I think you are all mistaken in your analysis of me and what it does. I tread and scream and soak you in, but I can't help you out of where you are. Alone in nights of temptation I've crossed oceans and still I'm not too far. On paths for one and seats taken in time, I've ran this race, I've eaten your body and tasted your wine. I think I am more than misunderstood and I think there are mountains of me, a conservation land in which to be cherished. I think I have things you need, things you crave and will never see. I think I am here alone, and I think none of you have any idea what goes on and what I've known. [This message has been edited by SpitFire (edited 08-18-2000).] |

No way am I going to suggest I understand ~G~ but I sure got your message - perhaps going a little slower- the possibilities could fill volumes - still your message speaks with the volume on max. - I wish you well |

~I just reread this and am hoping that nobody thinks that this is for them or this place.?. Absolutely not. I think maybe it seems like it could be taken that way but nonononono. I wrote this with an extremely busy and crowded and cold city in mind....and in people in my life etc. Shoot now I'm buggin. Hope it's understood,...see, there I go again. Please take care. *Peace. |

This is one of those poems that just make you sit back in your chair... and breath a bit slower. I am really impressed by this whole section... "I think I am more than misunderstood and I think there are mountains of me, a conservation land in which to be cherished. I think I have things you need, things you crave and will never see. I think I am here alone, and I think none of you have any idea what goes on and what I've known." Amazing lines! -jaimie www.ladysixstring.com |

There are large sections of the poem that I can relate to, especially when I was younger. I had a dark perspective on life, I have balanced out now. I could pick out all the parts I can connect with but when I would be transcribing the whole poem, I have known all the emotions at one time or another. I think we are living in the same cold city together....be looking out in the busy street for you, neighbour. LOL. Very powerful poem Siptfire, excellent writing. If you see a wide eyed lost Irish person it is probably me. LOL. ![]() "Beyond all this good is the terror,The grip of a mercenary hand,When savagery turns all good reason, There's no turning back, no last stand,"I.Curtis |

"I swim in seas of society's disease and struggle with laughter when I never really heard, when I never really saw or felt what it was." - for me, this was the crux of the poem. A lot of inner struggle going on here, much more going on than those around you sense. Hope you find what it is you seek. Really quite an interesting poem. Corinne |

~C, Quit what you're doing with those eyes you! Oh, and thanx for reading and understanding. ~Lady, thank you much for taking the time and for the amazing. WoW. ~Doreen, thanx for coming into my head with me. Eek. Haha. and seeing what I see. ~Kit, thank you gurl for the powerful and the understanding and the reassurance that it wouldn't be misleading to some. (announcements). ~Bri, nonono, why can you relate? I wish you couldn't and am glad that you have balance these days. You'll know if I see you out there...for sure. ~Corrine, your reply has made me cry.?.?.?. I guess you just hit it. It's like facing it head on when someone else can see. Thank you for reading into it. *Peace all! |

Spitfire, very intense, very slice-of-life. I've been in a few large cities, where the hurley-burley sidewalk walkers never sleep, each one casting stones and bones discerning who you are, while their belief shapes their reality. Very powerful read. |

Woo hoo, that was a good one! I have so often felt this way, throughout all of my life, and its still with me. Incredible. Printing for my file right now! Cat.... Words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think. Lord Byron |
