Please No More

Please no more.
The time has come to lock that door.
Return your key
and my heart to me.
Let the old journey come to an end
and a brand new journey will begin.
I could be right and I could be wrong
yet I am sure that I must go on.
Two will become one once more
as one takes a walk out that door.
You gave me little say
the day you went away.
Now please do me a favor
and stay.
We must deliver our hearts
to a place where hope resides.
To rebuild our esteem
and restore our pride.
Everything will be alright
I know.
Don't mind me at all.
I'm just in the process
of letting go.

James*
This was full of strength and pain....I know it's had to find the strength so many times when the pain seems all consuming but you have found it here....Letting go is one of my hearts many faults so I appreciate the process of the actions.....Great writing!!

You have penned the entire process of a broken relationship here James.  I think this is the first poem I have read of yours where you truly do tell the whole story.  Normally you focus on one or two emotions, but here you have it from start to finish.  I like it a lot!  You have come a long way!!!!

Thank you Butterfly...yes I believe when I say Please No More that I am still remembering that time when I knew that I didn't want any more pain and I was determined to let go and move on.
Thank you Sunny for your nice comments..I think if we know the right time to let go we can save every one lots of pain...anger is the driving force...the energy to enable us to move on.
Thank you Marina and actually I had more than one relationship in mind when I wrote this...residual frustration...I have finally realized that no matter the cost I must move on...and I have been...as you say I have come a long way...James

Lots of strength and yet filled with pain.  Your writing is filled with the courage and wisdom to take control of your life and I hope that this will come to you soon through your perserverance.  Wonderful creation James

Thank you Maureen and Mark for the lovely comments.
Maureen I love your heart...yes I can imagine two people going thru similar experiences in this great big beautiful world...I want to let go and journey on with no emcumbrances...totally free in mind and spirit...
Mark this is hopefully my final effort to let go of a four year relationship that failed and has been over for more than a year and a half yet still some parts linger...actually I know that she is past me yet she still seems to want my money...James

jmlee12345,
Your work is very good, and I do enjoy what you write,

"I'm in the process of letting go."

How many are in this process? A very powerful line you have written.

James,
this is wonderful. You can see the pain through the decision and it flows so smoothly. I understand the pain of letting go. When I separated from my husband, I felt relief that it was finally over, even though there was also pain. I can relate to this, and it's a great poem.

Be well

James

I too have enjoyed this one.  I have read through the different comments, and nobody said "congratulations" - you have reached another plateau in your life and you have made it.  I send you cyber hugs too!

James,
it's hard to let go isn't it??  But you must. . . if only for your own sake. . .

Well done my friend. . .
