Questions

How do mountains form from lava
How do streams flow to the sea
I don’t know. These natural forces
Certainly weren’t designed by me

How do birds find their direction
How do flowers know when to bloom
I don’t know, the earth must whisper
Springtime schedules, I assume

What makes rainbows disappear
Before I had a chance to dream
I don’t know, I think perhaps
It is a part of nature’s scheme

Who cuts out the crystal snowflakes
Who makes full moons come and go
I don’t know, but I believe
That everything was planned just so

Why does sunset thrill my spirit
Why so beautiful the dove
Why do I have all these questions
Could it be that I’m in love

Elizabeth Santos

What makes faces smile and others cry
What makes hearts flutter and birds fly
What makes sun rise and then later set
What makes one rich and another poverty's pet

Why do I ask questions causing strife
Why do these questions haunt me so
Why can't I just live out my life
Why can't I just let questions go

......

Liz,
The only answer I have always found is that questions of intrgue, passion, love, life, death, tragedy,... are the ones that keep evolution going... Things have to move from one stage to another and the questions are what help them in direction... ( sudhir, stop that chatter....)

Sorry, got carried away...

Liz,
This is a beautiful poem... and I can feel with you on this subject too...

regards,
sudhir

Well, Sudhir, that was quite a reaction. Glad you liked the poem, and glad to know someone who also asks questions
Take care and thank you for your response

Liz, I too often wonder who sits and cuts all those snowflakes out and what do they think about when they're doing it....*g*

Wonderful as usual, you know I wrote a poem like that once, called A walk in the sun.

and why is a poet named Elizabeth Santos able to express the questions with such perfect thought?

Liz,

Nice poem! Everything seems so wonderful when one's in love eh? ^_^... it's very inspirational

The beauty of nature is displayed,
not through itself,
but through the creatures
dwelling within its bosom.
