How am I supposed to forget the phone call
at 5.00am
A voice with such anxiety as he spoke
his words to me.
Numbly I replied ok, before it sank in,
Permission I recall him asking
the words burnt like fire

I need an answer,
I can’t hold on seconds count or she’ll be gone.
If that was not hard enough,
to authorise such a thing
now I had to phone him up and tell him what I did.

I could hear the same numbness
as I spoke on the phone,
I’ll be there as soon as I can
no time to be alone.

Minutes turned to Hours, Hours turned to Days
Now another decission a choice we had to make.
I remeber asking to myself, maybe if I hadn’t
would we still be doing this would it still have happened.

So as we left and said goodbye,
machines became unplugged
then came the wait for another call to say she’s gone above.

As I hung up the phone, I turned to him and said
Dad it breaks my heart to say, I am sorry Mum is dead.

What a great display of such sad emotions!
Letting go is always the hardest part!
I hope both you and your dad are doing fine in the wake of your terreble loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss Fee ... thank you for pointing me to this link, you have truly touched my heart with these sorrowful thoughts. To receive a phonecall like this, is a very numbing experience. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss ...

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit
