The Old Woman Under The Tree There was an old woman who lived under a tree from my window I saw her sweeping her leaves she sat on a box and called it her chair from an old mirror she combed out her hair She looked at her watch that wasn't really there and waited to see if her children still cared she set the teacups out for three nothing was there except for the tree She patted and pressed her old worn dress tattered and torn by the winds of time she drank her tea from an empty cup while singing her song somewhere over the rainbow... Daily from my window I watched this scene saying, one day soon I'll bake her a cake one like mama used to make I looked from my window just the other day saw lots of leaves swirling under the tree nothing there but the old tattered box three empty teacups, and an old hairbrush funny how she looked a lot like mama...
