While camped upon A sunset beach Jaded orbs searching the sky, A lonely woman Upward reached For an answer in reply... To questions hurled At the night So forbidding, black and old. A bleeding heart Streamed red in blight With her queries ringing cold. ‘Release this heart of suffering,’ These carmine words She whispered. ‘I’ve no more lily songs to sing.’ Still, No echoes back were heard. Her glance fell to The barren sand As her hope turned into ache. A single tear fell, Crystal grand, As she dived in ocean’s wake. Her breath stained cobalt, Swallowed whole Her mind lit crimson, burning. Cerulean she arched her soul Into a surfaced turning. And as she knifed The mirrored skin, Reflected darkness Shimmered, Into an alabaster grin From a star Recently glimmered. It crashed headlong Into the sea In roiling iridescence. Cascades of nighttime Falling free Washed about, A briny rinse. And floating there In seafoamed arms A man Cloaked pearl and star dust. With azured eyes, Unspoken charms And a smile colored in trust. ‘How could you leave,’ She asked this man. ‘From the skies' warm touch to part?’ ‘You have something ‘She never can,’ He spoke. ‘See love, you have my heart.’ [This message has been edited by Christopher (edited 06-20-2000).] |

OK, so it may not be exactly what you were looking for, but who am I to argue with my muse? (shut up K.) |

Snort...and what happened to the prose O-Mr-I-am-always-right? ROTFLMAO! Seriously...this is...wow. "Her breath stained cobalt, Swallowed whole Her mind lit crimson, burning. Cerulean she arched her soul Into a surfaced turning" Can't find a word to describe this right now...lol. I need some time to reflect on the imagery here. K |

*Stands stupified* Wow... *said like it's the only word in my head* It think you have the perfect mix of imagery there... it certainly doesn't baffle or drownd the meaning in useless pretties and by no means is the reader shorted. Loved the "jaded orbs", both color and pain... And "A man Cloaked pearl and star dust." That's just a great show of poetic imagery. And "Cascades of nighttime." And also the ending was great, get's ya right there.. Loved this much Chris! (Let's try this add thread to library...) This is incredible!!! so breathtakingly beautiful, that I cannot even choose the best part, each part is equally beautiful... So I choose the section that impressed me the most... And as she knifed The mirrored skin, Reflected darkness Shimmered, Into an alabaster grin From a star Recently glimmered. ... Beautiful work, Master Christopher... Regards, sudhir |
