As I gaze up to the heavens above, I think of you and then I cry. I know that you are watching me. As you light your candle in the sky. Why did He take you away that night? Why did you have to die? Together forever you said we would be. As you light your candle in the sky. Where is it that I go from here? The days and nights pass slowly by. I've never been alone before. As you light your candle in the sky. I really need to talk to you. So I raise my voice up high. I know you're trying to tell me something. As you light your candle in the sky. So many years together, Was a lifetime for you and I. But I know you're still by my side. As you light your candle in the sky. Soon I know we'll meet again. I feel your presence nearby. Hand in hand we'll walk real soon. Then we'll light our candles in the sky. |

This was beautiful Eloise. A great tribute to the loss of someone special. I am not a poet, I am merely one who speaks in emotion |

Eloise, you've expressed so well the pain of the loss of a love...the confusion, the questions, the feeling of being left alone, and the repeating line ~ "As you light your candle in the sky." serves well to convey the strength of your faith. Wonderful poem! Claire |

This is a beautiful description of what you have gone thru. I hope you are alright. I liked the way you progressed to candles in the sky in the last line. An enduring hope. James |

Eloise- Now you just KNEW I'd like this one. You've done a wonderful job lighting the sky with candlelight. What poignant thoughts. Such a marvelous image comes to me as I look at a night sky filled with the flickering of the candles of loved ones. Thank you, my friend. Thank you. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

I can see that the two of you have a never ending bond, and the love that you two share really show`s in your word`s here. May your Heart`s again be as one,but not to soon because we still need you down here. God Bless < !signature--> Today is the first day of the rest of your life. James, thanks for your kind words and concern but this was actually written for my friend's mother a few years ago. Marge, I'm so glad that you liked it. And there is comfort in knowing that there are those flickering candles burning up there. Thank you also Wizzard for your kind words. And welcome to Passions. |

Eloise, wonderful poem that is sure to give anyone who has lost someone special a ray of hope! Beautifully said! Did Jesus laugh? I think He did, 'cause He was once a little kid; and all of us were made with joy both sugar-spice girl and snake-snail boy! |
