In another life, with the fall leaves scattering their myriad of beautiful colors before our path The man held his wife'shand as they rode in the worn horse drawn carriage through a gray cedar shingled covered bridge, spanning the stream where they first kissed He watches the afternoon sun catching the auburn highlights in her long curly hair that whipped lightly in the cooling autumn breeze causing her to cling to him for warmth cuddling close so he could feel the puffs of her sweet exhalations With her by his side, he has always known that all was possible, that he could have children, and a warm loving house He new that he could always count on her to help drive away all his worries and comfort him in times of distress As an aging couple they still took those carriage rides in late autumn never foresaking the love or the friendship that had blossomed over the passing years beyond that which they could have hoped for becoming one by the strength in their hearts When we met five years ago I loved you so strongly, so soon that I new our love had passed on from another from the old couple far in the past who still hold hands while watching the brilliant leaves tumble and float quietly to the ground A real man kisses his children goodnight |

JBowie~ I just found this at the back of the classroom. I like the romanticism. The imagery was nice also. ~*MArge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

Love the theme of this piece, and how you've presented it! The love you feel allowing you to see far into the past to perhaps the origins of a love so remarkably strong and true...neverending. Gives the reader pause to wonder who you will pass the gift along to when the leaves fall on the bridge for you...wonderful work. |
