Divorcing A Friend Twisted words among cherished friends we trust endlessly leaping forward creating dire mistrust. Forever treasure this a laughing fool I was once never again freely willing to act as your dunce. You carelessly washed the walls with my torn soul and hopelessly left me sleeping in a gaping hole. Curving blind corners drive your selfish ambitions leaving you blissfully lost creating nasty dispositions. I failed to color in the bold lines you traced for me so now my volcanic anger is all that erupts to see. I saw in you a beautiful portrait of a valued friend yet no longer can my army of feelings continue to defend. I traveled through your venomous destructive journey thankful now that divorcing a friend requires no attorney. |

Divorcing a friend--a painful and distasteful process, but often necessary. Let it go awhile, you may yet meet again to go on in a new direction. Well said. |

I found this a very interesting way to express finding out a friend wasnt who or thought you thought they were...Divorcing a friend...I like the way you expressed that in this poem. Very nice! Amy ) ~Live today as though it were your last but prepare for tomorrow as though it were here~ |

I can really feel the hurt in this one. Maybe because I've been there myself. I've "divorced" a couple of them in my life. But when they're like that, who need em. Well done Gloria, I love the way you used those words! <*\\\>< There's only two ways you can go... One way you can save your riches, And the other will save your soul. Rich Mullins |

This poem really affects me right now. I'm right now in the process of "divorcing" a friend and it's so hard. But this poem will prove to be comforting I think. |

"I failed to color in the bold lines you traced for me so now my volcanic anger is all that erupts to see." I can't tell you how hard this phrase hit me. I know this feeling all to well. You don't need that shame cast upon you, Gloria, don't accept it. I know this was written long ago but I speak from experience when I say even if you kept in the lines, they would have changed the picture on you half way through. Emotion carried beautifully throughout. Strong piece. Michael |

Excellent writing, Gloria! I agree with Michael, too. People like that just keep changing the rules to suit themselves. You are much better off without someone like that! Denise |
