I'm a mild mannered sorta guy Searching for my alter ego I gotta lil super sidekick Embarrassing me where we go I'm not the Shadow of the Bat I don't work for the Daily Planet Though I'm a paperboy by night And my head can bust up granite Shh! What is that I'm hearing now? The man is coming for the trash! Ok I'm back and all is well I got it out as if the Flash I hate my job just as you might I wear a shirt that says gone fishin I drive a car that's just a fright I hate those danged politicians I have deemed myself Poetry Boy In the night once papers deliver The poetry muses run and hide And the readers quake and shiver Silverstein and Suess are my heroes Yes I can holler like Tarzan And Poetry Boy you gotta love him He might just one day become a man Oh yuh! Hmmm...so you can holler like Tarzan, eh? I don't mean to boast, but I can make Yoko Ono 'noises'...a kindred spirit here. |

Don't change a thing, Walt. Keep that Super-Hero status alive and you'll always be happy. Long live Silverstein!!! |

Poetry boy, you are MY hero ... --Kess Full fathom five thy father lies, Of his bones are coral made, Those are pearls that were his eyes; Nothing of him that doth fade But doth suffer a sea-change Into something rich and strange... --William Shakespeare, from The Tempest |
