okay, friends....as promised....no new posts about life with the ex anymore....after today (still the 22nd as I type). A final release, and all new things for my new life from here on out. Sigh. Wedding Day Funnies Outside, 6:15pm, precisely the time. I close my eyes and drink memory's wine. Cool air envelopes my face And the scent is pure, clean, safe. Memory is a delicate beast, Comforting when it's needed... My memory serves me all too well As this moment is proceeded With a gentle kiss of yesteryear. I feel your heartbeat as if you're near. The calamity of all our friend's Unending drive to make amends. Within my mind it's yesterday That we drew so many close To wittness our new life's beginning Before God and family's host. I see you standing, debonair, Before the Pastor, whom I swear Was going to pass out readily Before we finished the ceremony. I laugh, even now, as I recall The works of your bachelor crew Who used whiteout to mark boldly "help me" on the bottom of your shoe. So when we knelt at alter's bay The friends around us could only neigh And hold it in with muffled choke The masterworks of your bachelor folk. We arranged a traditional service Adding a bit of personal zeal. Aunt Ruth, her fortress was by the punch bowl, And my mom caught my bouquet while losing a heel. Dan Dan the bourban man Was our photographer at hand... Our bed and breakfast setting was far from ordinary And our guests drove a path to us through lighted luminary. Then of course there's our wedding night When consumation makes us one. But another blooper headed our way When your nose began to run A river of red, on my wedding dress, As you gently lay upon my chest. Silent in your embarrassment as away to the bathroom, I recall, you went. I remember well, our wedding bliss, As if blazed permanently in my thought And although our union's ended now Our beginning is always brought Back to me on this day And I laugh and cry and pray That we again find happiness As away from yesterday we progress. This was beautiful. It sounds as if you've made peace with something here. |

I like this. Memories are not bad...I'm glad you had some fun memories of your wedding! I'm sure there are lots of people who do.. In fact there was a whole TV show of 'wedding blooper' type clips..did you videotape yours? |
