“I hate you”, are the harshest words That one can ever say. They carve a wound into the heart Which never goes away. To have your children glare at you.. And tell you of their hate- Makes one ask, “What did I do- To bring things to this state”? Was it because I would not let Them go out with their friends? To drink and drive, and play the fool? But I know how that ends. Unwanted children, shattered lives I’d spare them from this fate- But is that grounds for one of them To glare at me with hate? I think of choices I have made The seeds which I have sown.. And wish that one could turn back time If only I had know.... I stood beside my brother’s coffin After he was dead... And recalled a hundred thousand things I wish I had not said. If stories need a moral Then this should have one too.. I’d caution one to have a care- Of what they say and do- It’s better far to purge from your- vocabulary hate... Than to regret your hasty words... When it’s far too late. Wow ... this poem really brought back memories ... lost a brother when I was 16 and he was 19 ... I can still remember standing there and wishing I could take back all the bad things I had ever said ... also my oldest son left home at 16 because of me being over protective ... he now agrees with me ... but it took several years of street living to change his tune Great poem ... great advice Rex}<{{{{o> |

We must choose our words tastefully for we may eat them tomorrow. How nicely you've brought this truth across! |

A beuatiful and too true sentiment. So quickly can everything change. This touched on some recent things that have happened in my family. Lives can change with words and actions too rashly spoken or taken...Excellent! Grant that I may not judge my niegbor until I have walked a mile in his moccasians Native American prayer |

With a name like Gunslinger and a title like "I Hate You" I came in here looking for a shootout. I lost all thought`s of that once I read the first five lines of this. You have givin me alot to think about here Gunslinger. I would like to share a little something from a book that I try and live by. JAMES 3:10 Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water come from the same spring? |

GS,I did get your email and just incase you have no Bible I`ll post the whole verse... James 3:9~3:11 With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men,who have been made in God`s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers this should not be. Can both both fresh water and salt flow from the same spring? Meaning for all to understand: Would you utter a prayer with the same mouth that you had just called your father/mother a son of a b**** with. |

Too often we don't see what our parents where thinking when they told us no. We rebelled against that. But as they get older they will one day stop and think, and be glad you did what you did. You have a strong message here, one I think we all needed reminding of! Thank you for posting that. If you don't mind, I am going to print this one out? <*\\\>< There's only two ways you can go... One way you can save your riches, And the other will save your soul. Rich Mullins |

Whtdove, feel free to print it out. Glad you liked it. Xcalibur, maybe I am dense, but I still can't make heads or tails of your comments, or inference.5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! Jas. 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. 7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: 8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. 10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. 11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? 12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. 13 ¶ Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. And by the way, I do have a Bible, I read it, and practice it. |
