The Darling of Poetry Her mind is a cavern of endless abyss Of chambers of thought and of soft reminisce She pulls from the lode intellect of a sage And insight beyond her young tender age She consumes every aspect of life that she sees And expresses her thoughts with grace and with ease Her words tend to dribble so smooth down the page And you read them in wonder at the mind of a sage She’s sprightly, amazing, she’s witty and fun She’s a child of the pisces but equal to none She’s a pretty New Zealander, poet queen of the isle She brightens your day with a warm loving smile She can turn an argument into a hug Her words seem to magically work like a drug And everyone listens, there spirits aglow She’s the “darling of poetry”, the Kamla we know Happy Birthday, Kamla February 25 Love ya Liz [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (edited 02-21-2000).] |

Thanks for your responses, dear friends Claire, Kamla is "Severn", and if you have read her free verse, you will always remember it. She is a university student and was recently published in a NZ literary magazine.She hasn't been posting as much recently, but if you have a chance, it's worth it to page back and read her poetry. Femme - I will be the grand old age of 25 - though I feel at least 40!!! No - that's only 15 years away - 80 perhaps...that's not so scary - HAHAHA!  (Crazy? Of course...actually a nice sedate dinner with my closest friends is the 'crazy' event (no family where I live) - sigh - guess I'll just have to run around stupidly afterwards - screaming at the top of my lungs and climb up powerpoles...yep, that ought to do it...)
