The morphine of a dream I raced upon a ship of dreams As whimsy stretched the sails and seams. Drinking the full of air in skoal. Heading into fantasies goal. The spray of phantoms brine my face, Showers embraced, like ghostly lace. And my eyes blazed in debonair, As my heart beat a strange aware. Fire kindled my very soul, This place I sailed this final goal. With the tempo of a hurricane. It struck lightening to my domain. The sea turned green, the sky to blue, The sun struck gold and then I knew, That just ahead there show a glean, Of mist and haze of blue and green. And the gulls on high screamed of land. Of palms in sway and pinkish sand. My mind went to ecstasy, but My actions went to lunacy. For the morphine of exalt came to nought, When the zenith of my dream, short abort. Man, I don't know how you do it, but you sure are darn good at taking a small moment, or vision, and painting it into a detailed event that is just breathtaking! I could feel myself looking through your eyes in this piece! I was experiencing it as I read....truly a wonderful journey, and thank you for sharing! I too, love the ocean, and you allowed me to feel the cool spray on my face once again! (standing up to clap LOUDLY!) Bravo sir! |
