Start Where You Are
~*Marge Tindal*~

Do not be tempted to jump,
when reaching for that star.
To get where you're going
you've got to start where you are.

You've got to start where you are
to know where you've been.
Sometimes back-tracking
to take it all in.

No shortcut is longer
than one fraught with tears.
Take it one step at a time
and your goals will be near.

Remember to take the time
to smell roses on the way,
skip a little rope,
glean a little hope
and soon
you'll hold the star rays.

What wonderful advice.  I know that sometimes I forget that in order to get where I want to go, I have to take it a step at a time and have a little fun on the journey.  Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful poem!

So true. So true.
Marge, you make the truth of life and survival sound as easy as skipping rope.
What a joy.
Only Marge could pull that off

Marge, To start where I am this moment responding to this wonderful poem, the only logical next step would be to go back and track all the other marvelous poetry you have graced this home of ours with. The roses that will envelop my journey filling it full of fragrance will delight me as much as your poetry. For each poet here has at least one fragrant masterpiece to delight one's senses.

Did I see a Star
Did I see where you are
I guess I did
You will always shine for me
Beautiful and so wise your poem Marge

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.
