It's circus time in this old town So wipe off each and every frown The clowns are here to lead the way In this lovely month of May. So come on people, pay your fee, You won't be sorry, I can guarantee. There will be animals big and small Even a purple dog on a giant ball. The lions and tigers are in their cages Making the ringmaster work for his wages The lions leap through the rings of fire Without even seeming to flinch or tire Cute monkeys in their costumes play As they're all dressed up for this special day They ride around on their little bikes As they look and laugh at all the tikes. In come the horses, prancing so gracefully As their riders stand and bend one knee The horses all donned in colors bright Try the best for their riders delight They you know the end is near As the performers pack up their gear So it's off they go to a nearby town To brighten up yet another frown. ~Pam |
