Searching With tired eyes I scanned Every book and letter Trying to find what would fulfill My eternal happiness Nothing there with your name Scripted on the page I started to feel my efforts were in vain Though I couldn't stop Before finished Forcing my sight on the last shelf and row Where at last I found it The book you wrote for me The letter slipped inside it Yellow, ripped, wearing thin I picked it up so carefuly, Afraid it might break, So frail, And held it in my hands for hours Knowing it was mine once more. |
