What to wear How to stand How to bear How to understand What to eat What to say What to beat How to pray When to cry WHen to laugh When to sigh When to bath How to look What to do Read a book Or by a shoe How to cover my ugly face Why am I such a disgrace? How to make my crush like me Oh how should I be? Who in the world is ME? ~GAngel2212~ |

Welcome to Passions GAngel. Lovely, touching poem. Teens are my forte! And, this is the advice that I give. If you have a flaw, do not tell anyone at all. -- Most people don't notice flaws, until they are pointed out. When I was teen I hated my broad shoulders. Other girls had dainty shoulders - and I wept so many times because my shoulders were broad --(actually, they were not that broad at all) I had just made them grow in my own eyes. Until to me they were extraordinarly huge. One day, when running track. My girlfriend said. "Teresa you are so strong. I can't believe how you are built. Like a pint sized amazon. Oh, how I wish I looked like you, how I wish I was as strong as you!" And, I looked at her, a girl of beauty, perfect in my eyes, and could not believe my ears. How can this be? A beautiful teen, wanting to look like me! It was then I realized that no matter what you look like or dream of looking like. You are uniquely you. And every teen has their insecurities, and their own eyes, distort the view. So, flaunt your flaws or enhance the parts of you that do like ----how to dress - is very easy you see ---- you dress what looks good on you never mind what is in or cool. How do you think I felt when puffed sleeves were in style, my shoulders to me looked as huge as a mile. It was that day forward that I learned what I should and should not wear, the styled puffsleeves were discarded immediately. I didn't care what was in style, I wouldn't wear it if made me look like a shapeless lump. I became a leader of fashion --- can you imagine. I told my friends - It doesn't matter what is cool and what is not, if it doesn't look good on you, wear it not! Name brands are fancy ways for big corporations to prey on young teens. Name brands do not make you! So, if it doesn't flatter your particular figure, don't even bother wasting your money. If you wear a pair of ragged jeans, wear a blouse of immaculate style. If you wear a ragged tee shirt, wear some slacks that add some class --- If your top is too small wear white and if your rearend is big then wear dark - If your legs are an attractive feature get some skirts and some shorts. I think you can get the gist here, kiddo. If your face has acne, then don't scrub. Lightly pat your temporary sores. If your face doesn't shine with exurberant youth, get some vitamins - and cut down on fast foods. There are so many things that one can do. So many ways to enhance our looks. But your inner soul is what shines through, confidence in yourself is a beauty that no other can surpass -- Find what you love about yourself ------and flaunt it, head held high with pride. Straighten your back and carry yourself with confidence. You will be amazed at the difference you will feel. Oh, yeah, I made it through my teens, in case you haven't guessed. Great portrayal of a teen in this poem. Thanks for the memories. netswan Every person has a beauty ----beauty is not a physical thing |
