Follow the Winds I thought I heard a lover’s call In muffled notes of meadow lark Amongst the field of windlestraw As dawn invaded early dark It was in gusts of morning breeze That warbling notes addressed my name Would this sweet serenade appease The meadow lark from which it came If I were to believe his word And follow his alluring song To know the truth of what I heard Or come to find I heard it wrong I put a candle to the wind And followed north from whence it came But it was from the south it spinned The melodies that bore my name And there I saw the meadow lark Sitting on a weathered post A silhouette in morning dark A tiny lovely feathered host How can this be, a chime that peals Into the air against the wind So strange a sight, and yet I feel A warming sense of love within And then I realized what I heard A vision of a love so true 'Twas not a song of warbling bird I turned around , and it was you Elizabeth Santos [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (edited 04-15-2000).] |

poetry in motion Liz, this is so pretty read and ya know what the sweetest part is...(besides you)... that there are all these poems in here that have been inspired by another poet... thats what I love about this place (smile) take care,jm Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders And it makes me want to touch you there. And the light in your eyes makes me feel Like there's something much better out there Something kind... And I know someday I might be looking around Trying to find some purpose Well purpose it can't be that hard to find As long as I've got the wind... The wind and your love to carry me. vertical horizon |

Janey Marie, Thank you, and look how many poems you have inspired and generated out of one post. It is amazing, isn't it? Liz |

Light, lovely, and so beautiful Elizabeth. You have such wonderful talent. *Krista Knutson* As soon as man does not take his existence for granted, but beholds it as something unfathomably mysterious, thought begins. ~*Albert Schweitzer*~ |
