Sitting alone on the beach
Your heart no longer within reach
I am here watching the rising of the sun
Its beauty is second to none

The sand is cool on my skin
My mind starts to spin
I watch the sun reflect on the bay
It shimmers and gleams each and every way

The cool breeze sends ripples over the lake
It chills me and I start to shake
Before me is your image now
Are you a mirage or here somehow

I see you walk along the water's edge
To love you always was my pledge
This has all been a dream
Not as real as it seems

I am here on the shore
Wishing there could have been more
Looking all around
My heart begins to pound

I really thought you'd come back
My world wouldn't be so black
I miss you being there today
Maybe we could find another way

Ah Lone wolf, such great description
of a morning on the beach, too bad it
had to have such a mournful cry --
Well written.  Thanks for sharing.

Teresa,
Thank you.  Love the beach, but guess it is kind of bittersweet.  Lots of memories there. You are welcome for sharing.  Maybe it can be different....

I can feel this one tearing deep inside.  This poem takes me there. Very special and very sad.
I relate to your name.  Lone Wolf.  My e-mail name is mountain recluse.  Lone Wolf has a special mournful feel to it.  Excellent name, if a person is feeling that way.

Jeffrey,
Thanks....happy to oblige.

Rosemary,
Thank you and it does tear deep.  I feel sad about the whole thing.
As for my name, it is a perfect fit I think.  I can relate to yours too.  Yes, it is how I feel.

Lone Wolf - Beautiful, my friend!  Investing your heart and soul in a relationship, and then having it end, can make you feel emotionally bankrupt.  I'm glad that you are able to get your feelings out in your poetry.  I hope it helps you as much as it helps me to do that!
