Time stood still on that dark and stormy night Heaven's gates opened wide for him to make his final flight He lived such a short life yet he accomplished oh so much Kinda makes me wonder if he knew how many lives he would touch His music is still alive and growing every day There'll never be anyone who can do it quite that way He took his heart and soul and poured them into every word And if you listen close enough to any song today a little bit of Hank can still be heard There's a little bit of Hank Williams in every one of us Nothing can tug the heart strings the way his music does And every time I hear the cry of a lonesome whipperwhil I'll always think of him and the day that time stood still The eerie haunting sounds of "Men With Broken Hearts" That's a lonely story that could melt your "Cold, Cold Heart" If you're heading down that "Lost Highway" and you've fallen from your stride Open your eyes 'cause he may be sending you "A Picture From Lifes Other Side" Just my meager attempt to pay tribute to a true poet at heart Jeffrey |

A wonderful tribute, Jeffrey. I spend a lot of time on that "Lost Highway". Indeed, ol' Hank will ne'er be forgotten. Michael |

Wow Jeffrey - this is wonderfully clever. The way you enmeshed the song titles with his tribute. Oh I can start singing now, as I get my southern twang going -- "hear the lonesome whipperwill, he sounds too blue to cry, the midnight train is standing still.. I'm so lonesome I could cry. Thank you so much for taking me down memory lane. Yes, he was fabulous. Teresa King |

Jeffrey~ This was a wonderful wake-up call ! I'm a Hank, Sr. fan ... and I really enjoyed this. Nothing like the music of Hank, Sr. to 'light up the purple sky.' Thank you so much for sharing this tribute of memory makers. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

I agree with all of you. Hank Williams is one of the most influential "songwriters" in history. In a way I think we are all "songwriters of the heart" Jeffrey |

very cool Jeffery...the way you worked in his song titles in this. a very nice tribute piece... wrote with a lot of respect. (too bad Im much too young to know who he is) ![]() take care, jm Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders And it makes me want to touch you there. And the light in your eyes makes me feel Like there's something much better out there Something kind... And I know someday I might be looking around Trying to find some purpose Well purpose it can't be that hard to find As long as I've got the wind... The wind and your love to carry me. vertical horizon |

A wonderful tribute Jeffery. He is one of my favourites from the old country scene. Isn't it funny though, how his music just never seems to die.... Marina |

Sorry Marina , you snuck in there on me. Thank you for the compliment. I know you can hear his influence in most country songs even today. That is the real tribute. Jeffrey |
