I think you think that we're alike. But here's how it seems to me. We have less in common Than a melon and a pea. I am sweet and full of juice. You're wrinkled up and dry. Who's undistinguished from the crowd? Clearly that's you, not I. I am lush and overflowing With a nectar exquisite. You're a petty little shell With some pulpy stuff in it. I keep company with mangoes, Berries, grapes and tangerines. You consort with the likes Of carrots, beets and beans. Technically we may both hang From the selfsame family tree, But being thus related is Well, an embarrassment to me. |
