More than Moonlight

It was more than moonlight
when i was in it`s glow with you
it was more than a car ride
when it was just us two

Basking in the sunlight of your summer day
smoothed out my raging sea
taking my troubles away

there was life in the music

laughter in the air

a flutter in my heart

impossible not to stare
the flowers smelled sweeter
water was as wine
there was an urgency to life
everything seemed to shine

But now i`m out of your favor
and the roses only scorn
the moon won`t come out
the colors seem to mourn

i can`t forget how you thrilled me
with your casual touch
and your smile and your laughter
they gave my heart a rush

You`ve taken your light from me
only darkness, a void so deep
my heart thrown into limbo
my soul put to sleep

i avoid you because i think you do the same
i don`t want to look like a fool
dagger thrusts of shame
stab my gut and twisting turn

i`m sorry that i made the mistake
i guess i`ll never learn
it`s just the one`s before never gave me such pain
it`ll be a long time before i forget you
i just hope not as long before i`m sane

once again, your words echo the feelings in my veins.  i thought it was you that said it was the insanity that drove us...... but maybe rest stops are nice, eh?
