State of constant confusion!

0 posted 2000-04-13 11:15 AM

What were you thinking
when you told me good-bye?
You don't love me anymore!
Could that have been in your mind?
Now you've come back crying
asking me to take you in
Well, honey, I'm sorry
but I won't play that game again

'cause it's too late
my tears won't fall anymore
I wiped them all away
when you walked out that door
You're telling me you're sorry
and you want to try once more
but now it's too late
my tears won't fall anymore

You ran to another
saying we can't make it work
Well, I'm here to tell you
my pride's not all you hurt
You broke my heart into pieces
like so many times before
So now it's too late
I won't play that game anymore

You've expressed betrayal, pain and anger very well here, Jeffrey.

Thank you guys. This piece was inspired by a friends relationship and what I told him he should do.
I could feel his pain and I told him to stop playing that same old game with this girl.
Just my opinion

I've laid myself before you,
And you walked all over me.
You ask me now to lay back down,
As if my heart won't bleed.

You think I am unfeeling?
You think I have no heart?
You think I am a masochist,
That you can tear apart?

You saw me not as a friend,
You saw me as a playing tool.
Hurt me once, shame on you,
Hurt me twice, I am the fool.

Hmmm..this kind of took on a life of it's own...lol. There could be much more to it if I took the time but I have to leave it at this.   Sorry Jeffrey.

I think you did a fabulous job with this poem..its almost as if you wrote it for me.
To her it seems that it was only a game to play..an opportunity to play around..to me pain and hurt and sorrow and a brokenheart...what kind of game is that...and who could stand to keep playing that game...how many heartbreakings can one person live thru.   James

Jeffery, I hope you stick to your decision.  Other wise you mat say to yourself..." But on second thought.."  And believe me you don't want to be there!  This was very well written.  I wish you luck.

This is just so great I really admire the way
you choose to express yourself in your words.
I hope your friend read it and took advice.

Sometime you just gotta know when to quit...  A lesson you seem to learn far faster than me...LOL  Great poem.
