The Sun’s Desires

I would alight your day, if given my own way,
I would balm your soul, greet your face,
I would sooth your muscles, pink your cheeks,
I would hold you in my warm embrace.

I would warm your earth beneath your feet,
grow your food and with abundance meet
your needs and likes, your solitary guide,
I would alight your day, if given my own way.

I would touch your heart, and hearten your soul,
and feel you turn into young from old;
with just my sun-sent kisses to your cheek,
I would make you strong from weak.

Then I would promise, with all of my soul
to again come to you after the night turns old,
pinken your dawn, give golden glow to your face
and once again hold you in my warm embrace.
