          The Empty Page

An empty page stares up at me expectantly:
A piece of ivory-colored parchment, upon which I shall inscribe my soul.
Cradled gently in my right hand is my pen:
The magic wand, which will transform my feelings into words.
What will I create, as my heart guides my pen across the page?
Will it be a beautiful painting, on a par with Da Vinci;
Or, perhaps, a jumbled, formless finger-painting, such as I did in kindergarten?
Will it be a lovely symphony, to rival Tchaikovsky;
Or, a nonsensical song, such as children often sing?
Whatever I fashion will be "just right;"
For, the beauty is in the creating.
To share with others the good and bad,
The joy and sorrow,
The darkness and light
That are in me - what could I possibly treasure more than this?
So, I shall continue to fill the pages,
And exhaust the ink of the pens,
And share my heart and soul,
For as long as life courses through my being.
Doing so makes my heart sing, and my spirit take flight.
And, if my writing stirs you...I am even happier.

Romantic Heart - thanks, glad you enjoyed it!  I have always been lousy at drawing and painting - so, I try to paint my pictures with words.

...and you do it so well, Troy! This is a beautiful poem! I'd say this is on par with Da Vinci and Tchaikovsky!! Excellent writing, Troy!!

Well then sing in flight sir, because I like what you write!  That release is the "fix" every poet needs...Being able to "stir" others with our words, that is truly an honor in itself.  Keep writing, and I'll keep reading - and use all the ink you must!

For some , the shortest distance between the soul and the paper is the pen . I would hazard a guess that you may be one of those.

Very, very good Troy!
     Thy words speak the truth!  'tis the only thing to do, to share the feelings of the heart with those who care and appreciate them!
