An ode to writers block!

The mind empty lacks all sensation
Seeking now poetic inspiration
John Drury sits unopened here
Writers block, my biggest fear

Teachers say - write that you know of
Sadness, joy, hate or even love
But if there is a void of those
How can I write my poetry or prose?

I seek music to soothe this burning desire
“come on” Jose, ‘Light My Fire’!
Nothing then but keyboard and screen
Venting now, my poetic spleen.

**Note: John Drury is the author of my favorite 'kick me in the butt for inspiration' book titled Creating Poetry.

I always new Liver was poetic, but a spleen ? great, I would love to have one of those . I thought good poetry was suppost to come from the Heart not the spleen or a book by John Drury . Humourful as ever .

With poetry as your weapon - express your iner feelings so all may carry your sorrow, united as one .

and what a wonderful spleen it is!
Can't imagine you with writer's block. I bet you could write an incredible poem about a fire hydrant.
Wish i had your writing talent.
Enjoyed reading this one.
