The Rhythms of Love Undertows of ocean’s tide Bring me nearer to your side Throbbing heart and quivering breast In want to soothe the soul’s unrest Melting into love’s first touch Drawing close toward lover’s clutch Warm and tingling sense of skin Build up rushing waves within Drumming beats within my ear Giving birth to blissful tear Synchronized in rhythm’s mesh The pulsing throb of wrapping flesh Wettened lips and fingertips Are visions of the eye’s eclipse And taste buds reap the pupil’s sight Of silken warmth of skin’s delight Tempos of a thunderous roar Oozing out of every pour Pounding heavy in the room Rock the earth in love’s consume Drum rolls fluttering through the mind Tremors sound in murmur’s time Slowing to a weakened state Of heart’s contentment in elate At dawn in early shadows' depth The rhythm sweet of silent breath Enveloped in lover’s steep Softly cradles me to sleep Elizabeth Santos |

Elizabeth, At dawn in early shadows' depth The rhythm sweet of silent breath Envelops me in lover’s steep But I do not in cradle sleep. For I in churn and torment yearn, In depths of distance and concern. Seek your touch in small reprieve And dash upon the misconceive. Love Sy Your poems are to wonderful for words. |
