Depths of Trust.

Trust - Is it something so hard to obtain?
Yet so simple to define
I long to receive divine guidance
And pass on faith in mine.

Without trust, true feelings are withheld.
It's essential - if to share, your feelings or thoughts with a friend.
It allows closeness beyond any question.
Through which once broken hearts can mend.

Oh how I want to prove mine, for a very special friend.

What is it? We may ask, that proves trust
We are told, just time.
No! Trust needs truth, sincerity and understanding,
Comforted with a certain peace of mind.
However, time must play some small part
Without. What really lay's, deep in a heart?

Trust can't be bought with gifts, regardless what's given in kind.
Gifts are material objects
Passed on with appreciation in mind.
They can often be forgotten.
Wear out, or wither in vase.
Real trust cannot be measured by gifts
Passing hours and passing days.

Trust is a certain feeling
A feeling of peace of mind
A feeling, that upon reflection
I now find difficult to define.

Time and gifts are not the answer.
To gain the trust of a friend
What makes it so mysterious?
Its magic will not bend
Trust is the only foundation
On which true friends can depend

Oh how I want to prove mine, to a very special friend.

Truth, Sincerity and Understanding
In these attributes I agree
Without belief in these
Who should trust in me?

For trust is not given freely
Or to be used with malicious intent
It's something from ones heart. So precious
Not yours - Remember! - It's only lent.

A final thought about trust
If received, be true to it. You must.
For how much doubt can one endure?
Before trust goes
Returning - Alas - No more.
God only knows!

Oh how I want to prove mine, to that very, very special - Friend

Why? You may ask.
My reply! - Just B cause.
She's, my only true Friend.

So true! Trust is the foundation. Without there's not much left. What an entrance!
