Little hand prints on the window Memories captured in time Even if I wanted to wipe them away, How could I? The imprint is implanted now A moment forever frozen In the chambers of my heart A treasured token If only I could relive Each and every day That has passed swifter than the last Until fading faintly away That is impossible wishing And impervious to logic Surpassing all known laws of nature Beyond even Merlin’s magic So instead I will accept change As she will most surely grow And cherish as long as I can Little hand prints on the window (For my daughter, Madeleine) |

This is precious! How fast they grow. This reminded me of a poem I have hung on my wall. Excuse This House Some houses try to hide the fact that children shelter there~ Ours boasts of it quite openly, The signs are everywhere~ For smears are on the windows, Little smudges on the door; I should apologize, I guess For toys strewn on the floor But I sat down with the children And we played & laughed & read; And if the doorbell doesn't shine~ Their eyes will shine instead. For when at times I'm forced to choose The one job or the other; I want to be a housewife~ But first I'll be a mother.< !signature--> <*\\\>< YOUR LIFE IS NOT A COINCIDENCE. IT'S A REFLECTION OF YOU! I really enjoyed the way you expressed, so poignantly, your sentiment here. Wonderfully written. ~ Claire |

As a father of 2 I can totally relate to this poem. Great read. Thank you for reminding me of the joys of being a parent. It is so easy to forget sometimes. Jeffrey |

Awwwww.... =) "The storm rises up when the shadows descend every beat of my heart every day without end I will stand like a rock I will bend till I break till theres no more to give if thats what it takes I will risk everything I will fight I will bleed I will lay down my life if thats what you need every second I live thats the promise I make" I have no idea who wrote this... tell me if you know. =) |

speaking of poems hung on the wall,my son brought this home from school one day his first grade class had done handpainting and pasted to the paper on which his handprints were painted was this.. Sometimes you get discouraged, because i am so small and always leave my fingerprints on the furniture and walls. But everyday i am growing. I`ll be grown up someday and all these tiny handprints will surely fade away. So here`s a set of handprints so that you may recall exactly how my fingers looked when i was very small. Christmas 1998 signed i love you ,Taylor this is one of my most prized possessions so i can relate to your wonderful poem |
