Pleasures and Pain I died today and you didn't care. You never looked back. How could you say that you cared? For all that I gave, this is what I get. You took my heart and tore it apart. When all my pleasures turned to pain, I built a wall made out of shame. My world came crumbling down because of you, But what hurts most, is that I knew you wouldn’t be true. I tried to tell myself, None of my feelings would get involved. But to my surprise, I wasn’t so strong. You knew what you were doing, You manipulate all that you say. You said I was different, But it was only for the night, That you wanted me to stay. “Needs”, I heard them say. You had needs to be fulfilled. But how many do you need? Are you willing now to grow your seed? You never asked if I was okay, “Just call me later” Is all you’d say. And late at night, I lie awake. Still thinking of you, No matter how my heart aches. I make myself realize, What you’re all about. But when I dream of you, My tears still come flowing out. I knew from the start, How you’d only break my heart. I can certainly relate to this The pain of knowing doesn't make the feelings go away for good. They do still linger until you decide to move on Jeffrey |
