Last night I sailed to Zanzibar, ...across the seven seas, Danced a dance with Terpsichore, ...upon soft evening's breeze, I plucked a flower from the skies, ...a rose named Southern Cross, And sang to her love's madrigal, ...upon her heart emboss, The signature of all I am, ...of all I'll ever be, For whilst I hold her in my arms, ...'tis only Rose I see, I long to feel her soft caress, ...to of her passion's sip, 'Til once again sail seven seas, ...upon night's sailing ship. |

I would love to sail this way...too bad my name isn't southern cross or rose! Beautiful poem! "Love is not love Which alters when it alteration finds, Or bends with the remover to remove. O,no! it is an ever-fixed mark....William Shakespeare |

Our sailing ship is tempest tossed upon swift savoring waves and there, on deck, my heart is lost to my captain's bold engrave. Mike, reading your poetry is always an inspiration, to be sure. This one is exquisitely romantic ... I am very drawn to its seafaring aire. ~ Claire |
