Another True Story (just now written)

I am wearing bunny ears
and "sylvester" slippers,
hugging a gorilla,
and sipping on my sipper.

You see, I needed
cheering up--
that's exactly
what they said.
The ears are so
that I can hear--
the gorilla,
to take to bed.
Slippers so I won't feel cold.
Herbal tea to sleep.
Hugs and kisses--off the bed.
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
