My Love for You

You break the ground
and plant a seed
You till the soil
and pull the weed

You give it nourishment
and watch it grow
You give it time
then suddenly, you know

First, a spark
and then a flame
It flickers and swells
it grows the same

Just a crack
and then ajar
The door swings wide
We've come so far

A few notes and words
become a song
The music ebbs and flows
It feels right, not wrong

It started small
and then it grew
My heart is filled
with love for you
